O turismo como motor do desenvolvemento sostible na Eurorrexión. Perspectivas da Eurorrexión de Tatra

Resumo
A importancia do turismo no desenvolvemento das rexións cobrou interese para os académicos nas últimas décadas e a súa contribución é evidente. O rápido desenvolvemento do turismo está a crear unha presión sobre a competitividade do destino, así como sobre o seu desenvolvemento sostible. A Eurorrexión dos Tatras leva décadas conectando dúas nacionalidades a través de actividades conxuntas que desenvolven a rexión mediante o fortalecemento do turismo. Con todo, préstase pouca atención ao desenvolvemento da eurorrexión a través do turismo. Por tanto, o obxectivo deste traballo é identificar se o desenvolvemento do turismo nesta eurorrexión será sostible no futuro, o que se pode cumprir respondendo a dúas preguntas de investigación, RQ1: Cal é o estado actual do desenvolvemento do turismo na eurorrexión de Tatra? e RQ2: Está o desenvolvemento futuro do turismo na eurorrexión de Tatra suxeito ao principio de sustentabilidade? Responderemos as preguntas analizando datos estatísticos e documentos que describen as actividades de cooperación dentro da Eurorrexión. O documento contribúe á análise da cooperación transfronteiriza dentro da Eurorrexión, así como á investigación no ámbito do desenvolvemento rexional co turismo sostible, que vén determinado polo ciclo de vida do destino.
