Resumo

Neste traballo tratamos o valor dos Recursos Humanos Internacionais como fonte
potencial de vantaxe competitiva para as organizacións. Sobre a base dun estudo realizado entre
150 expatriados españois, analizamos os seus principais resultados. Comprobamos se o tempo
introduce diferenzas significativas nestes resultados, e tamén se son efectivamente medidos polas
organizacións. Ademais, a partir dunha enquisa de 330 expatriados auto-iniciados suxerimos que os
que abandonan voluntariamente o noso país na procura de oportunidades profesionais obteñen o
mesmo tipo de logros. Os datos do noso estudo confirman que as persoas que se atopan en postos noestranxeiro perciben a adquisición de habilidades internacionais e a mellora de competencias
profesionais, que poden determinar o diferencial competitivo para as súas organizacións. Así
mesmo, os que se atopan no estranxeiro na procura dunha oportunidade laboral ou de
desenvolvemento profesional obteñen idénticos resultados, o que suxire que existe unha bolsa de
profesionais altamente cualificados con talento disperso que poderían significar para as empresas a
mellora de posibilidades de expansión internacional, e para o país a inversión de fuga de talento que,
a longo prazo, pode derivar na descapitalización. O tempo mellora os resultados nos dous casos.
