Abstract

What we try along this article is to prepare a first approach to the educative system in the regions of Arzúa and Melide (inner Galicia). We have divided our presentation in three parts. The first one is an analysis of the number, distribution and diachronic evolution of the teachers of first letters during the selected period. We will value therefore the keys that determine their existence. The second one deals with the qualitative characteristics of the schools (quality, financing, curriculum). Finally, the third part, dedicated to secondary education: the studies and the students of Latin.
