Abstract

This paper examines the development and current state of the historiography ofthe episcopal ceremonies in Galicia, considering that they are a symbolic of the temporal andreligious power in early modern age. It analyses some aspects about the ceremonies and thedifferences among the four episcopates and archbishop of Santiago, since this chapter was veryrich and the image of his power was very important. The author looks for the development ofthe ritual experiences and the political or social significance of protocol.
