Abstract

Within the framework of the current Spanish educational curriculum, where the LOMLOE gives a central role to both the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), this article presents research related to the design, implementation and evaluation of four educational digital games focused on SDG 14 (underwater life). In particular, this article focuses on the two iterative cycles in which the games were implemented in real classroom contexts, where students and teachers assessed the resources through checklists based on the association of CREA with DUA. These phases made it possible to collect detailed evaluations on the three principles of SAD, facilitating the progressive improvement of the games. The creation process resulted in four digital games designed under the principles of SAD and SDG 14, with an inclusive approach to meet the needs of all learners. As a main outcome, six key design principles are proposed to guide the creation of inclusive digital games.
