This paper analyzes the proposed amendment of the Galician electoral law by the Popular Parliamentary Group in the summer of 2012 and that, given the anticipated call of regional elections, it didn´t get into force. This proposal was to reduce the Galician Parliament seats, which would drop from 75 to 61MPs, without altering the minimum 10 seats that correspond to each of the four constituencies Galician regard less of its population. Therefore, we study the consequences of this initiative regarding representativeness and proportionality of the electoral system. Finally, some proposals are set to enable more active participation of citizens in the process of choosing their representatives or even in the creation of legislative initiatives, areas in which the proposed reform of the electoral law did not come
