Abstract

Children have been the forgotten ones in the implementation of protective measures for victims of male domestic violence so far. This study carries out a case law analysis to find out how Catalan second instance courts decided on issues concerning protective orders directed to minors throughout the year 2019. The analysis shows potential violations of their rights, both as victims of male violence and as minors. Thus, proposals are introduced in order to improve the effectivity of such measures, giving them an orientation based on favouring the kids mental and physical integrity by keeping them away from violence and its perpetrators.
