Abstract

The article poses the ontological primacy of human dignity above its formulation concerning human rights. To defend this, the author analyzes the transcendental dimensions of human dignity, establishing the difference with the qualities of it proposed by some other authors, and from which human rights are derived in their actual four generations. The dimensions that are analyzed are: rationality, sentiments and emotions as the result from the interaction between the human being and his world, communication and human dialogue as well as sociability. After this, the article mentions the human rights that derived from the above mentioned dimensions and it is defended thy recognition as the basis for human rights’ recognition as well.
