Abstract

This text focuses on the main concepts of the philosophical proposals of Rodolfo Kusch and Édouard Glissant. First, he resorts to the metaphor of the journey to reflect on the common tenor between a philosophy dedicated to pointing out the power of the territory (Kusch) and a poetic-philosophical movement mobilized to problematize the link between different cultural frameworks. Following this, it stops at Kusch's philosophy, investigating the dialogue of the notion of to be-being (estar-siendo) with a pre-ontological proposal that argues the american cultural authenticity. In a third section, the concepts of Relation, Chaos-World and Glissant's wandering are discussed as members of a poiesis that disarticulates the binary distributions of modernity, taking the notion of to be-like-being as the backbone Finally, it is concluded that, despite the distances between Kusch and Glissant, both philosophers ponder the place of a postcolonial difference within the cultural fabric of our America.
