The Concept of Overdetermination in Althusser
Main Article Content
Abstract
There has been a lot of debates concerning Marxism, but not they all have generated so many discord as the one regarding Althusser’s early works, in which one assures that Marx’s thought divides incisively in a stage of youth that is strongly influenced by Hegel and Feuerbach, and in other one of maturity that implies a break with the above mentioned influences, and a scientific way to understand and explain the political and social problems. In this work I will analyze some of the arguments that Althusser presented, but putting emphasis in the concept of Overdetermination for being the concept that better reflects the epistemological break that he postulated on having distinguished two stages in Marx’s theory.
