The article offers a phenomenological analysis of moods. It attempts, first, to elucidate the essence of moods as affective phenomena. Second, it engages in a determination of the conditions of possibility for the occurrence of a mood. With this end in view, it develops the hypothesis according to which moods are given as a compenetration between the being of the living body and its spatial here. Finally, the article highlights the practical importance of the phenomenology of moods.
