Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to accomplish a historical evaluation of the Darwinian theory of evolution. To carry out this aim, Darwin’s theory is analyzed in the light of the natural understanding of scientific thought. In some way, the process of development of natural understanding initiated by Copernicus was finished by Darwin, because Darwin started the natural understanding of the life-world. In this paper, then, Darwin is presented as the Copernicus or Galileo of life-world.
