The free-radicals theory of aging states that organisms age because cells accumulate freeradical damage over time. One of the principal postulates of this theory is that the free radicalsare implicated as decisive participants in biological oxidation-reductions. In this paper, from the theoretical frame of the structuralist view of the scientific theories, it is intended toclarify the relationship between the free radicals theory and the model of oxidation-reduction reactions.
