This article is written with the intentions to clarify the electoral success of Alternativa Galega de Esquerdas (AGE) in the 2012 Galician elections, despite the presence of a lot factors which should be thought as playing against. However, the main problems about this coalition worked together to add value and helped creating a bigger connection with the electors. The explanation of the results is based in AGE’s discourse (mostly represented by leader Xosé Manuel Beiras) and its connection with the most critical sectors of society in a social context of crisis and widespread discontent with the system.
