Abstract

O obxectivo principal deste artigo é analizar o papel da política de austeridade na saída da

crise dos países que forman a periferia da eurozona a partir dun marco de análise no que

se inclúen os posibles escenarios de política económica resultantes de combinar a

austeridade fiscal coa devaluación interna. A partir da análise dos escenarios viables, no

contexto institucional actual da eurozona, conclúese que a supervivencia do euro a curto e

medio prazo se dará nun escenario difuso –entre o denominado escenario Werner-Sinn e

o calificado como Mezzogiorno- no que non se restaurará nin a competitividade dos países

da periferia nin un crecemento satisfactorio que elimine o desemprego.
