Abstract

The objective of this Doctoral Thesis is the study of the feminine roles in the economic structure of Galicia during the Modern Period. It is approached this way a thematic one extremely novel, with a working methodology that is substantially that of the social history, and with many and diverse documental sources that included notarial, fiscal, judicial and municipal funds as well as the juridical codes. This investigation has allowed us not only to underline the participacion or the women's contribution in a world, that of the economy, contemplated in masculine key, but mainly to reinterpret the socioeconomic reproduction of this society from the essential importance of what the women make, from its firm anchorage in the family economy.
