Abstract

We present here the complete series of patients and military patients of the Santiago Royal Hospital since its beginnings -1630 and 1740 respectively- until 1840. Through the annual data with addition of the average duration of the stays by patient, we can know the Hospital activity grows enough in the 18th century's first half, nevertheless some activity directs at that time to care for military staff in the town. At the Spanish Independence's War this position was hugely boosted, later it was decreased enough but it continues with a high level in the following years.
