Abstract

The use of prosopography and network analysis allows us to understand manyaspects of the sociology of the cathedral chapters, as his social and geographical origin, age, education, careers, descent, and the factors that determined their membership in the corporation, particularly family and patronage networks. The evolutionary study of XVIth century chapterof Compostela allows us to analyze its changes in the context of reform of the clergy, notablyfollowing the Council of Trent, and of the transition to modernity of the Galician society.
