Abstract
The present article has as main objective the analysis of a newoffence that was introduced in the Spanish Criminal Code by 5/2010Act: solicitation of children for sexual purposes through informationand communication technologies (ICTs). For these purposes it focus onthe phenomenon of online child grooming and its treatment at the internationallevel as a first step to further study of the new offence in orderto provide some criteria that help the interpretation of the new standard.
