Abstract

The promulgation of laws is one of the eight principles considered by Lon L. Fuller in his work The Morality of Law and forms part of the basic postulates around which his book is articulated. This article offers a reading of that principle with a view to identifying possible manifestations of it in our current legislative system. More particularly, the article considers the following issues: the morality of promulgation, the principle’s presence in the morality of duty, and the projection of promulgation and the implementation of the marginal utility principle in the morality of aspiration.
