Abstract

The present paper aims at showing the importance of the approach that places the Plotinian resolution of the dilemma of participation posed in the Platonic Parmenides under the optic of life and its forms. To do this, we propose presenting the dilemma as it appears in the Platonic Parmenides 131 a-c. In a second moment, we will attend to the aspects of the Aristotelian critique that are based on this approach. Finally, we will give an account of the position adopted by Plotinus in the face of this criticism and of the solution he offers to the dilemma of participation, focused on the internal connection of Being, Intellect, and Life.
