Abstract

The purpose of this document is to identify the influence of affective variables in the conformation of the vote of the Galician population in the last autonomic elections of the year 2016. We are in a context marked by the crisis, economic and political after the non-formation of Government at the state level, so feelings and emotions come to shine. This is accentuated in the parties of the so-called «old policy». Therefore, incorporating these types of variables into voting explanation models empirically is la fact that many politicians and political psychologists begin to demand. For that, we made a regression model with the vote for each Galician party that obtained parliamentary representation in these elections. Apart from the usual variables in this type of studies, we include a battery of feelings towards politics, understood as an emotional category, to discover its predictive and explanatory role. We always bear in mind whether these greatest differences occur between traditional and new parties.
