Abstract
Alternanthera philoxeroides is a widespread invasive alien species. Here we report the first record of the plant for the Iberian Peninsula and we provide data on its habitat and population. Furthermore, its eradication based on the aggressiveness of the species demonstrated outside Europe is proposed.
