Author Guidelines
1. Manuscript processing
Papers proposed for publication in Labor must be original and unpublished, i.e., they must not be in the process of being evaluated for publication in another journal. The Editorial Board of Labor will carry out an initial review of each of the articles received in order to analyze their suitability to the thematic lines of the journal and their quality. If the work does not meet the requirements, it will be rejected, which will be communicated to the person who appears as the main contact on the platform.
Once accepted, manuscripts will undergo a style review process to ensure that they are adapted to the style standards of each section. If necessary, the originals must be accompanied by permission to reproduce materials, particularly figures or images taken from sources other than the authors.
2. Characteristics of the originals submitted
2.1. Labor accepts papers written in English, French or Spanish.
2.2. The originals will be sent as text documents (Office, LibreOffice), including tables, figures or images, and will be processed through the online application.
2.3. Figures (graphs, maps, illustrations, etc.) should also be sent as separate files, in tif, jpg, eps or png format, with quality no lower than 600 dpi. In addition, both the separate files and the figures embedded in the text must be identified by a matching number in both (graph 1, figure 2, table 3, etc.). When used in absolute initial, the initial letters of graphs, figures, etc. should be capitalized, as in the captions of graphs, tables, etc. When mentioned in the text, they shall be written in lower case.
E.g.: a. As indicated in table 1, ... b. Table 1. Appearance of the preposition in the ALPI
2.4. Texts indicating sources of funding and acknowledgements should be included in the first footnote. These texts should be brief and should constitute a single paragraph each.
2.5. Submissions for the "Articles" section shall have a maximum length of 130,000 characters (including spaces, footnotes, titles, abstracts, keywords, bibliographical references, etc.). Papers for the "Notes" section should not exceed 60,000 characters, and “Reviews” should not exceed 20,000 characters.
2.6. Anonymity: all complete references to the author should be eliminated, limiting them to the indication: Author (year), without specifying the rest of the entry in the final bibliography. In this, the indication Author (year) will be ordered alphabetically between AT and AV, avoiding introducing it in the alphabetical order that would correspond to it. References to projects will also be eliminated, which will be recovered after the evaluation phase. Likewise, the author will check that his/her name does not appear in the document properties. Once the evaluation has been completed, the author will add all omitted references in their proper place.
2.7. Authorship. In works with multiple authorship, the responsible author, who will also be the contact person, must be identified. It is the responsibility of the responsible author to ensure that all persons who share responsibility for the work are acknowledged and to ensure that they are aware of and have approved the final version of the document. The names of the authors should be listed in alphabetical order by first surname if all authors contributed equally. If the contribution of each author is different, this should be noted using the conventional CRediT terminology (https://casrai.org/credit/).
When publishing in Labor, the author/authors cedes/cede all the exploitation rights of his/her/their article (including distribution, public communication, reproduction and transformation) to the University of Santiago de Compostela, which, under the conditions and within the restrictions stated in the legislation on intellectual property, is the holder of the copyright and, therefore, of all the patrimonial rights expressed, while the author/authors maintain all the moral rights corresponding to them by the law (art. 14 TRLPI).
