In this paper we will undertake a historical reading of the different studies carried out by the archaeological investigation relating to the existence of “continuity” and “ruptures” throughout the process of the abandonment of the hill forts. On the other hand, we intend to call attention to the need to revise the terms “continuity” and “change”, in such a manner that, besides overcoming binomial postures integrated by the defenders of rupture and the defenders of continuity, it will allow us to reflect on the importance and the presence, after the integration of the Northwest in the area of the Empire, of reality and previous local traditions.
