Author Guidelines

Formal

1- All papers should be submitted through the RIPS editorial platform: https://revistas.usc.gal/index.php/rips/about/submissions.

In the case of papers with several authors, a correspondence author should be designated who will be responsible for ensuring that all authors have approved the final version of the document. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that the list of authors is entered correctly.

2- The Editorial Manager will directly reject manuscripts that do not comply with the subject matter of the Journal or/and do not respect any of the requirements referred to below.

3- The papers submitted to RIPS must:

Be unpublished and not be approved for publication in another journal. Be written in Galician, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese or Italian. Adhere to the following recommended maximum and minimum lengths (taking into account all sections, including abstract, keywords, bibliographical references and annexes):

Collaborations: 40.000 to 80.000 characters with spaces.

Book reviews and research notes: 6.000 to 12.000 characters with spaces

Guidelines

4- Papers should conform to the bibliographic and style standards that can be viewed/downloaded at: RIPS Templates (.doc)

5- Papers will be uploaded to the platform in office, openoffice or compatible formats.

6- The first page of each manuscript should contain (without author information):

Title in its original language. Titles should be concise and informative. They are often used in search engines. Avoid abbreviations and formulas whenever possible.

- Title in English

- Abstract in original language (maximum 150 words)

- 3-5 Keywords in original language

- Abstract in English (maximum 150 words)

- 3-5 Keywords in English

- JEL codes

8- The content of the body of the article will follow the following structure:

Introduction. The Introduction should state the objectives of the paper and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature review or a summary of the results.

State of the Art (literature review). A State of the Art section should extend, not repeat, the background of the article already discussed in the Introduction and lay the groundwork for further article.

Objectives, materials and methods. This section should provide, in addition to the objectives of the research, sufficient details to allow the work to be reproduced by an independent investigator. Methods that are already published should be summarized and indicated by a reference. If citing directly from a previously published method, use quotation marks and cite the source. Any modifications of existing methods should also be described.

Results. The Results section presents the main contributions of the study in a clear, concise, and logical manner. This section should objectively summarize the results of the research, accompanied, if necessary, by statistical analyses, figures, tables and graphs to support the conclusions.

Discussion. This section should explore the significance of the results of the paper, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is usually appropriate.

Conclusions. The Conclusions section should briefly summarize the main findings of the research from the objectives. It is also important to present implications and applications of the results, limitations of the study, and possible areas for future research.

References

9. Citations and bibliographic references should follow the standards included in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 7th edition. It is also recommended that these standards be used as a style guide for writing manuscripts. The use of a reference management program such as Mendeley (https://www.mendeley.com/downloads), Zotero and End Note or others is recommended.

10- The “cross-citation” method should be applied: all citations in the text should be included in the bibliography; all bibliographic references should be in the text.

11- All references should include the DOI when possible, following the following format: doi: https://doi.org/XXXXXX

12- The article should contain at least five citations from the last five years.

13- Punctuation and order will follow the following models:

Por favor, indique claramente el nombre(s) y apellido(s) de cada autor y compruebe que todos los nombres están escritos con precisión. Presente las direcciones de filiación de los autores (donde se realizó el trabajo real) debajo de los nombres y dirección postal completa de cada filiación, incluyendo el nombre del país y la dirección de correo electrónico de cada autor.

Contribution, acknowledgements and/or funding sources should be included in "Comments to the Editor" in the online submission form. Please clearly indicate the first name(s) and last name(s) of each author and check that all names are spelled accurately. Submit the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual research was performed) below the names and full mailing address of each affiliation, including the country name and e-mail address of each author.

Changes in authorship

It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that the list of authors has been correctly included in the online submission form. Any changes to the author list, including the deletion or addition of any author, between initial submission and acceptance will require the written agreement of all authors if the manuscript is to be considered for publication. New authors must also confirm that they fully comply with the journal's authorship requirements. No changes in authorship (addition or deletion) will be permitted once the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

Good Editorial Practices on Equality

The use of inclusive and non-sexist language is recommended. In this regard, authors may consult the following guide developed by the UN ONU: https://www.un.org/es/gender-inclusive-language/guidelines.shtml

In order to comply with the Good Editorial Practices on Equality followed by the journal, authors are requested to report in the article, when relevant, whether the source data of the research is gender-sensitive, in order to allow the identification of possible differences.

Privacy Statement

In accordance with the Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December, Personal Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights and with the EU Regulation 2016/679, the data collected will be incorporated by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) in the processing “Publications Service and Scientific Exchange” for the purpose of the management of authors and/or managers and users of monographic works and journals published by the Publications Service and Scientific Exchange.

The body responsible for such processing is the University of Santiago de Compostela with registered office at Praza do Obradoiro s/n, 15782, Santiago de Compostela.

The basis of justification for this processing is the consent expressed by the persons concerned.

Interested parties may exercise their rights of access, rectification, deletion, limitation of processing, opposition and portability through the USC Electronic Headquarters

They may also contact the Spanish Data Protection Agency to make any claim they deem appropriate.

If you do not give your consent, the data will not be processed, but you will not be offered the service.

The data will be kept for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected, or as long as required to comply with legal obligations. Once the purpose has been fulfilled, data not required for the provision of public service will be blocked until the applicable statutory limitation periods have elapsed.

Surveys and questionnaires. Research surveys are defined as the processes employing questionnaires administered to respondents. The data collected through surveys undergoes statistical analysis to draw meaningful research conclusions.

Organic Law 3/2018, of 5 December, on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights makes it compulsory to comply with a series of requirements in order to collect data or opinions from third parties.

For surveys collecting personal data that could identify participants, explicit respondent consent must be obtained. This can be easily implemented by including an introductory question explaining the type of data that will be collected and what it will be used for. Participants who consent may proceed with the survey, while non-consenting respondents may be redirected to the end of the questionnaire with an acknowledgment of their time.

Anonymous surveys containing no personal data fall outside the scope of EU Data Protection Regulation 2016/679

In case of processing personal data of respondents, all requirements contained in the EU Regulation 2016/679 and the Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection must be complied with.
