Abstract

This article addresses the importance of the State capacity and its ability to formulate and implement strategies that enable it to achieve economic and social objectives in the field of its own society. To do this, we take as a reference the case study of Iraq, delimiting the research to the temporary 2003-2007. The ultimate goal of this academic work is to highlight the importance of meeting social demands (particularly on security issues) to face the systemic tensions that generate certain grievances and feed the incentives offered by large-scale political violence.
