Theoretical article in which the category of citizenship, understood as polysemic concept and constantly updated as complex due to social, cultural, political and economic changes of society is addressed. The current debate on citizenship is in the cultural and social dimensions, where proposals arise as intercultural citizenship. The reflection revolves around the real possibility of full citizenship for young Mexicans from the intercultural perspective, understanding them as subjects located under exclusion generated by the global context and model of patriarchal society.
