Abstract

What factors explain the behavior of Mexican voter in 2012? Specifically, did the economic perception influence the behavior of Mexican voter in the last presidential election? The results were unexpected. Apparently, the Mexicans voted as perceived government performance, under a reward-punishment dynamic to government party, but in a broader approach than economic vote theory has offered. However, the economic factor was really important in the Mexican voter decision process in the last presidential election.
