Abstract

In this article, some etymological and conceptual meanings of ethics and morality were reviewed, where the importance of the first meaning to initiate all types of research was highlighted and, at a conceptual level, the importance of consensus within a specific moral community was highlighted for accept one or another definition within the plethora of possibilities that are presented to admit a concept examined. Likewise, in the examination of the use of existing ethical language in the different moral communities, the indistinct, diverse and unreflective use given to them stands out, which would bring to the fore the arbitrariness and relativity of the consensuses reached.
